Restaurant Night by Kaycee
Restaurant night
For restaurant night our teacher split us into groups. There was a menu group, a serving group, a advertising group, and a decoration group, also a entertainment group.
I was in the serving group, for serving you had to pick what the kids would where and who will be serving and who will not be serving. The menu group picked out the food and how much it would cost to get the food. Then the advertising group made tickets and how much the tickets would cost, the tickets cost 10$ each.
Also the entertainment group asked kids if they could play instruments. The group also was in charge of who would play and at what time they would play. The last group decorations did the ribbons and the banners and almost any kind of decoration. They also got to pick the colors of the decorations.

Kiss a Pig Fundraiser by Kaycee
Kiss a pigFor kiss a pig we made these buckets and wrapped them up. Then people put money in the buckets, the highest winners have to kiss a pig. Mr. Hedges the schools principle won first then Connie the music teacher won second. Then on Thursday Mr. Hedges wore a tutu and red lip stick, it was funny, then the pig came in, the pig was so loud it was screaming at the top of its lungs. Then Connie walked over and put red lip stick on and kissed the pig it was so exciting. Then Mr. Hedges came in and put on a tutu and red lip stick too. Our principle then kissed the pig everyone was laughing I was laughing to, it was really funny. So that was kiss a pig.

Kaycee's latest post:
New student
The new student is Larry. Larry is a boy.
When Larry first came into class he was shy, but
now Larry plays with his friends and has fun with them.
Larry is nice and kind, he has a little trouble
with speech, but that doesn’t make him a bad guy.
I think Larry has a bright future filled with joy
and friends. That’s what I think of our new student Larry.

Bake Sale
We had a bake sale with the Student Council. The money from the bake sale will help pay for our field day.
Bake sale
For the bake a bunch of people made treats. Everything was $1.00.
Unless you got two treats that would be $2.00. Me and my sister bailey got
chocolate flowers. We wanted to get Carmel apples, but those were sold out.
So we got chocolate flowers instead. Connie was selling the treats. She
was nice. The bake sale was to raise
money and our school got lots. Almost everything was gone.
So that was what the bake sale was like.
Rocket Launch
Kaycee wrote about the rocket launch that Mr. Hedges did for the elementary to get them excited to earn their own rockets.
Rocket launch
The rocket launch is what we did for fun.
Mr. Hedges our principle got all the parts for the many rocket. Though
the first time it didn’t work, but the second time did.
The rocket was the color of the sea hawks, green and blue. When the
rocket launched it went really high in the air. Then the rocket let out a
parachute and landed sideways. We had to run to catch up with it. Jackson
griffin was the first person to get to the rocket and hold it. he then held it
up in the air and almost everyone cheered.

Guns for General Washington
Guns for general Washington is a book the class read. Are
teacher read the book to us, we all thought the book was interesting. Also
since we were studying the revolutionary war the book fit right in. the book
was about crenel Knox getting enough guns to fight the British.
Well in the end of the book the guns got there and the
patriots lined up the guns and fired them in the morning on Boston. The British
tried to fight, but since the patriots were on a hill it made it hard for the
British to shout guns and cannon balls at them.
After are teacher finished the book the whole class took
attest almost everybody passed the test.

Basketball Posters by Sara Dowl
The Lund girl’s basketball team
made it to regionals and they had to go against the Tonopah Muckers so to help
them win we made basketball posters. I did my sister Alondra. After we finished
their posters we hung them on their lockers without them knowing.
Then we snuck on the bus when
they were going to leave and when they got on the bus, we did a cheer for them.
After the game was over they told us they had won! They were going to move on.
A couple days later they were
going to play against the Alamo Panthers we also made more posters. But we
couldn’t get on the bus because they were going to go on Friday. The news
wasn’t the best they had lost. But at least they got this far.

Parent Conferences
Kaycee has written about parent conferences.
For the parent teacher conferences you
and your mom or dad will go to school. When you get there you will go to your
class room. When you get into your room your kid’s teacher will tell you to sit
close by her.
When you do her or he will give you a
paper with all your grades on it. You can look at the paper also, but the
teacher will talk with you about the worst grade like if you got a f on math
your teacher will talk to you and try to find a way to make that grade better.
Though after the conference you and your
mom or dad will go home, but while you go home you will talk about what grades
you did. Also your mother or father will say good job.

and Bailey Schulz. There are three people in the one hundred point club

point club there are two people they are Kaycee Schulz and Isabelle Carter.
Times Table Pass Offs
We are working hard to get our times tables passed off. Kaycee has written about this.
Times table pass offs
For times table pass offs
you have to do multiplication. You have to do twelve multiples. your teacher
will give you a small piece of paper
then you will do the paper for 30 seconds then you have to stop when the teacher
says stop.
Though when you pass off
all your multiples your teacher will color your chart and other class students
will clap and say good job on doing multiples. Also when you do the small paper
the teacher will call four people to do it. You will have to do these small
papers every day of school unless you already made it to your goal.
So when you do not get the
paper right your teacher will mark it down. Though when you do get the paper
right the small paper will say 100 present. Also you will get a sticker and will
put the sticker paper in your sticker folder. When a person checks the folder
you might get a free assignment.

No List Lunch
Each quarter the kids who keep their lists clean of missing work get to have lunch in the classroom. Nearly 70% of the class got to attend. Kaycee has written about it.
No list
lunch
For the no list lunch we had Hawaiian hay stacks. I thought
the food was good. Hawaiian hay stacks are rice with gravy and different
toppings. I got rice and gravy with nuts and cheese. It was really good. The other class mates had plates full of
toppings and rice.
Though there was a catch. You had to get to book on the
sticker chart to eat lunch. I was one of the ones who got there. Well actually
there was most of the class. We also had mini sodas to drink and for dessert we
had Oreos and chocolate chip cookies it was so good.
After when the bell rang we went out to recess to play me and
my friends were so full we couldn’t play for a while though the food wore off . for me and my friends
and class mates that was the best lunch ever.
Accelerated Reader Party

scooters, Heelies, bikes, and roller skates. Everyone rode outside except for
the people who had Heelies. Most people rode bikes.
After we had a snack. For the snack we had ice

was a good game.

Christmas Party
Reagan D. wrote about our class Christmas Party.
For our
Christmas party we picked a number and whoever that person was that’s who you got.
It was on the 17 of December. We all got a present from
our teacher that was a book from the book fair. Our class had a big
Christmas tree but it was fake and it
was so pretty.
For our party we
watched a movie and it was really funny. We played some games. We eat treats
and they were so good. Oh and some of us went to recess and some stayed
and watched the movie.
And that is what we did for our Christmas party.

Colonial Projects
We spent the last little bit working on the 13 Colonies. Each student presented information about one of the colonies. Kaycee has written about the project.
For are
colonial project we had to pick one of the thirteen colonies off the broad.
Then we had to pick to do a poster, power point, slide show, or a pamphlet. For
a poster you had to do facts also pictures of the ruler and the founder of your
colony. For a slide show or a power point you had to do it on the computer
though our teacher said you shouldn’t do the slide show because the computers
were acting weirdly.
So the only
ones you could do was poster or a pamphlet. For the pamphlet you had to fold a
piece of paper and do facts also information and a picture of the ruler and
founder of the colony. So it was basically the same thing as the poster though
smaller. Also if you did the pamphlet you would have to present it to the
class. You also had a week to do the project. So on Monday you would bring you
project to school and present it to the class.

The Farthest-Away Mountain
We just finished reading The Farthest-Away Mountain. The kids really seemed to enjoy it. Wyatt has written a report on the story.
For the read out loud book we
read the farthest away mountain it was a fiction book I liked it I think I got
90%.
The characters were Dakin ,
crock, Drakamaug , and the witch. I liked the book but I don’t know if the
others did.
There was a lithely pool that
the witch fell in to and she died. If I had to rank this book 1-10 it would be
a 9! Drakamaug is a ogre he is huge he has a bet thing it is wired. Dakin is
the prettiest girl in the village she wants to meet a gargoyle and oh ya by the
way there were 3. and she wanted to marry a prince and that’s all I could think
of.
Junior High Basketball
The 5th graders are playing junior high ball. This is the first time they have been allowed to do that and they are really enjoying playing with the big kids. Justin has written about this weekend's games.
On January
Ninth the girls and boys Lund Jr. High team went to Duckwater. Both Lund teams
lost. The girls lost by like 12 and the boys lost by 18. On the Tenth we went
to Ely and had a tournament. Both teams played White Pine and Round Mountain.
We both killed Round Mountain but lost to White Pine.
