Cookies for Cancer Bake Sale

I really want the kids to do some type of service project, so I asked them about the Cookies for Kids' Cancer bake sale and they seemed pretty enthused.  Riley and Gabe presented the idea to the Student Council and we got the go ahead.  Here is a report by Sam and Charlee about the experience.

Cookies for kid’s cancer report
The cookies for kids cancer was a big success.   It was really fun; we sold tons of cookies and cinnamon rolls and other goodies. It was a good experience for the whole class. We all had shifts in our class whether it was clean up, set up, or selling.  It was extra fun knowing that we were supporting a good cause. A great thing was that everyone had fun and that was one of the main things. I hope we can do it more often and that’s not just because we got to get out of doing our work.  Every one participated.
My favorite goodie that we sold (which happened on my shift) was when we sold the cupcake with the big mustang horse on it. I really hope all of the money we raised makes those kids have a better life, and it can help them in any and every way.  Maybe someday we can do this again.

We had a lot of support from the community.  Even people with no real ties to the school participated both by donating and making purchases.  In the end, we will be sending $200.00 to the Kids' Cancer fund.  Our money will be doubled by the Glad Corporation.

  2. Dear Mrs. Christensen's Class,
I was so impressed after reading about your efforts to earn money for the Kids' Cancer fund. Knowing that you had a great time and you were doing something so super-special made me smile. Please let me know the next time you have a super-special fund raiser. I will get myself to Lund and buy something! Keep posting on your blog. I can't wait to read what others in your class have to write about.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Marich
