Tutoring

Several of the kids on the high school side have been helping us with after school tutoring.  We will start back up after the holidays.  Sara has written about her experience.

Last Wednesday we did tutoring after school with the 7th graders. When we do tutoring we do please corrects. I got Rachel Jones. Kelton Forester showed us a very easy way, well easy to him way to multiply by double digits. Nobody really understood it. Rachel tried to help me with my math but she didn’t know how to find the area of a figure.

Charlotte Peacock had to help her figure out the problem. Rachel kept saying that she needed to come back to 4th grade. Finally we were able to finish. Rachel said that she knew how to find the area; she said that she did area every day in Mr. Dempsy’s class. But she just didn’t get it.
The senior class cut down and decorated a tree for the media center.  Destry has written about it.

THE senior tree is so tall it looks like a giant in the building that is a sculptor of brass. It is so cool I love it is so beautiful it is a beautiful tree .There is a lot of good trees that come out of sawmill.

Honoring Our Veterans

One of the best things we've done this year is our veteran interviews.  Justin wrote about the experience.

On the 12th of November some local Veterans came and we interviewed them. The Veterans were, Kent Montgomery, Norris Hendrix, Mr. Hedges, Mr. Ebbink, Jay Godfrey, Layton Christensen, J.L. Whipple and Rusty Jensen. We also had a bunch of cookies.

We asked them questions like, How long did you serve and what war did you serve in, stuff like that. Some brought pictures and items. They told us  some cool stuff.

We just finished our Little Caesar's fundraiser.  Reagan D. has written about it.

For the pizza sale all elementary does it we go around to peoples houses, and you have these packets with pizza, and cookie dough. So they look through it and see what they want and they get it and pay you. The money you get if it is a check you write it out to the elementary school. Then you grab the money and go.

Oh and one thing I forgot was that in the packet there is a chart and you sign your home phone number and your name. Then we go to school and you organize the pizzas and then at the last day we pick them up. Then we go to the people houses and deliver them.

Thanksgiving Feast

Kaycee has written about the annual Thanksgiving Feast.

First  we got assigned what to bring Me and my sister had to bring plates a lot of people used the plates because they were bigger  and could hold  a lot. Some people had to make fruit salad or mashed potatoes. My favorite was the pie and mashed potatoes that was really good.

There was also water we could drink though I had my own bottle of water so I drank that. I really thought the food was good there was cookies, pies,  and a bunch of other foods.

Then when everyone finished we went outside to recess. I was stuffed with turkey, pie and other great foods at the feast. My friends were also stuffed everyone was stuffed with great foods. So we didn’t play much because we were so stuffed though on the other hand I was happy to sit and talk with my friends. That was the Thanksgiving feast.

The Book Fair

Sara has written about setting up for the book fair.  It will be set up until December 10.  Feel free to come to the school and do some Christmas shopping.

Today Mrs. Christensen said that we might set up the book fair today. I really like the book fair because they have really interesting books to buy, and they aren’t that expensive. I’m really excited that we get to set it up. The past years they just didn’t sell books they also sold posters, erasers, pencils, and pointer fingers.

They have lots of books there. We can also go after school if the school is still opened. When my sister has basketball practice and we pick her up, my mom and I can go and get books from the book fair. I can’t wait until we get to set it up, but we only get to set it up if we don’t have a list, or if we’re not caught up on our A.R.
